Call for presenters
The 12th Australasian Permaculture Convergence (APC 12) will be honouring the past achievements of permaculture and challenging us to find ever more creative ways to transform the future to a sustainable world.1. Land and Nature Stewardship – food production, horticulture, animal management, organic growing and gardening, biodynamics, biodiversity, reading the landscape, broad acre management, GM, seed saving, perennial tree crops, wild harvesting and gleaning
2. Land Tenure and Community Governance – Transition movement, local food economies, land use, feeding the world, intentional communities – eco co-housing, eco-villages etc, co-ops, practices towards longevity, engaging with mainstream politics, working with local government, conflict resolution
3. Built Environment – building materials and design, low energy building, transport, owner building, community and settlement design, feeding the city through urban agriculture
4. Tools and Technology – renewable energy, water systems, appropriate low impact technologies, reuse and recycling
5. Culture and Education (depending on presentations, this domain may be split into Culture and Education) – permaculture education in formal and informal settings, the PDC, Dip Perm and APT training, permaculture in schools and further education, home schooling, permaculture and ‘Education for Sustainability’ (EfS), the arts, music, dance, performance, worldviews, integral permaculture, deep ecology, permaculture and overseas development
6. Health and Wellbeing – physical, psychological and spiritual wellbeing and flourishing, climate change and health, healthy food and its preparation, holistic and western medicine, solastalgia, ecopsychology, home birthing, dying with dignity, mind/body/spirit practices, women’s spirituality, permaculture of the inner landscape, conflict resolution
7. Economics and Finance – ethical investment, divestment, progress without growth, steady state economics, LETS systems, CSAs and subscription food growing, WWOOFing, skill sharing, permaculture and poverty
